What is Redlands Gymnastics Club?
More Than Gymnastics- We are FAMILY!
At Redlands Gymnastics Club, we believe gymnastics is about so much more than learning skills. It is an opportunity for children to grow in confidence, develop important life skills, challenge themselves, and discover what they are capable of.
Our coaches care deeply about the individual development of every student. While learning gymnastics skills is an important part of our program, personal growth will always come first. We want every child to leave our gym feeling a little stronger, a little more confident, and proud of what they accomplished that day.
Our classes combine exciting gymnastics equipment with positive coaching, encouragement, music, movement, dance, games, and creative activities to create an experience that is both challenging and fun. We believe children learn best when they are engaged, encouraged, and having a great time.
Whether a child is taking their very first class, learning a new skill, or training as a competitive gymnast, our goal remains the same: to help every student become the best version of themselves; both inside and outside the gym.
At Redlands Gymnastics Club, we don't just teach gymnastics. We help kids build confidence, character, friendships, and a positive self-image that can last a lifetime.
Who We Are?
The Story of Redlands Gymnastics Club
Sandy Stein’s vision for Redlands Gymnastics Club began nearly 20 years ago when she was working as a gymnastics coach at Tumble Tots Gymnastics. Passionate about gymnastics, children, and the success of the business, Sandy quickly distinguished herself in her role and was promoted to Gym Manager after just six months.
As Manager, Sandy helped lead the gym through years of growth and change, including a transition in ownership. Her dedication, leadership, and family-focused approach made such an impression that the new owners soon realized Sandy was the perfect person to carry the gym forward. In May 2000, Sandy purchased Tumble Tots Gymnastics and began building the gym around her own vision.
That vision was simple: gymnastics should be a place where kids can learn, grow, build confidence, and HAVE FUN!
Sandy wanted to create the opposite of the typical “hard-nosed, super-strict, no-nonsense” gymnastics academy. Instead, she believed children of all ages and abilities should feel welcomed, encouraged, and excited to come to the gym.
Her vision then and still today is:
“Helping kids of all ages and all levels grow, develop, build a foundation of healthy habits, and most importantly… HAVE FUN!”
That philosophy quickly became the heart of the business. In just a few short years, enrollment grew from approximately 260 students to more than double that number. Space became limited, waiting lists grew, and eventually there were waiting lists for nearly every class.
The demand for more space led to an exciting new chapter. In July 2012, after years of continued growth, the gym moved into its current 9,000-square-foot facility and officially became Redlands Gymnastics Club.
For Sandy, gymnastics has always been about more than just running a business; it has become a family legacy. Her daughters, Addisyn and Ainsley, grew up at Redlands Gymnastics Club and competed in the gym’s competitive Aerials program. Today, both daughters have come full circle and are coaches at RGC, sharing their love of gymnastics and helping inspire the next generation of gymnasts.
And then there’s Tim, Sandy’s husband and the man who quite literally helps keep the gym running! From fixing equipment and repairing whatever needs fixing to taking care of the countless maintenance jobs that come with running a 9,000-square-foot gymnastics facility, Tim is RGC’s behind-the-scenes maintenance guy. He may not be coaching on the floor, but if something breaks, needs to be built, moved, repaired, or figured out, chances are Tim is the one making it happen.
And we can’t forget Luke and Karsten, Sandy and Tim’s sons, who are the muscles behind the business! Whether it’s moving equipment, building, lifting, hauling, setting up, tearing down, or tackling one of the many jobs that require a little extra strength, these two are always there to lend a hand. They’ve grown up watching the business grow and have become an important part of the team behind the scenes.
Together, Sandy, Tim, Addisyn, Ainsley, Luke, and Karsten have made Redlands Gymnastics Club truly a family business, with each member of the family playing a different role in helping the gym continue to grow and thrive.
Today, that little gym Sandy dreamed about has grown into a thriving gymnastics community with more than 1200 enrolled students and over 30 amazing coaches and staff members; and yes, we still have waiting lists!
More than 40 years of gymnastics in Redlands, countless families, thousands of children, and one vision that remains at the heart of everything we do:
Learn. Grow. Build Confidence. Have Fun.
About Sandy Stein
A Passion for Kids and Families
The success of Redlands Gymnastics Club is rooted in Sandy’s passion, determination, and unwavering commitment to creating a place that is truly all about the kids. Her mission has always been to provide children in Redlands and the surrounding communities with a safe, positive, and fun place where they can learn, grow, build confidence, and simply enjoy being kids.
Beyond coaching and leading Redlands Gymnastics Club, Sandy is a wife and mother of four. Being a mom has shaped the way she views the gym and the families who walk through its doors. She understands how important it is for parents to feel that their children are safe, cared for, and surrounded by people who genuinely want the best for them.
Sandy’s commitment to families extends beyond the gymnastics floor. She created a larger-than-average Observation Area so parents can comfortably watch their children. She also developed fun events such as Parents Night Out, giving parents an opportunity to enjoy a few hours of time for themselves, connect with friends, or spend meaningful time with their loved ones while their children are having fun at the gym.
These are just a few examples of Sandy’s belief that healthy, happy kids start with healthy, connected families. Her passion has always been about more than gymnastics. It’s about creating a community where children feel loved and encouraged, parents feel welcomed and supported, and families can grow together.
